Birds, NAz
Birds were the first photographic subjects to captivate me. I photograph birds in hopes that the photo will show their power to inspire awe. I am profoundly grateful to the birds shown here, who let me into their world and tolerated many minutes of human/camera attention.

on May 19, 2017I love the expressiveness of the bird subjects in many of these photos. In particular, the bald eagle with head thrown back and the yellow-dumped warbler on a mullein. For dramatic, I go for the osprey diving into a pond with a red-winged blackbird just off of one wing. For artistic-unusual, I like the totem pole image of the raven on a pole.

on April 23, 2016I find many of these shots engrossing because of spectacular timing. I also really love the color context of the Tanger and Ravens in particular.
