Images of the landscapes, seascapes, and cloudscapes of the Inside Passage of Southeast Alaska capture its glaciers, misty mountains, dramatic skies, and endless waters. From blue horizons to fog-draped channels and snow-capped peaks, each photo reflects the raw beauty where ocean, sky, and land meet.
The photos were almost all shot from aboard a small cruise ship, the Chichagof Dream as it sailed from Juneau to Sitka, specifically away from those two harbors. These waters, endless indeed, grace my thoughts and deserve the chance to touch viewers.

These images, shot from the small ship “Chichagof Dream”, reveal the stark beauty of Alaska’s Inside Passage. Some of the photographs took advantage of the position of the ship, capturing the endless waters of southeast Alaska. Other images were captured from the cruise’s onshore excursions. The juxtaposition of brilliant days and colorful sunsets, of glaciers and greenery in this temperate rainforest is a kind of poetry.
These marvels in but one North American region flow naturally into National Parks and Monuments — the heart of my landscape photography collection—to images of the Southern California coastline, and to Canyon Country where massive red rock formations meet water.
